What does it mean if its GI/New Old Stock/Used/Near New? We do our best to keep all of our descriptions as detailed as possible. This includes age, condition, origin, issue status, and other descriptors. Due to the nature of military surplus, we can't guarantee that our descriptors are 100% correct, but we will work with you to make sure that you are getting exactly what you need.
- GI "Genuine Issue" - These are items that were bought for use by the military. They were made specifically for a branch of government, not for the general public.
- New Old Stock - These are items that are completely unused, but were manufactured years ago. They often come from original government boxes from the era in which they were manufactured.
- Used - There are different grades of used. We do our best to explain how the item may appear. Any item that is used may have stains, repairs, or other blemishes that are standard with used clothing and gear, but the product will still be functional as described.
- Near New- These are items that can also be called "like new" and could even pass as brand new in most cases. Perhaps they were issued to a solider for a short time and may have been used or worn once or twice. Often these items are indistinguishable from new items other than a name written inside.
